Indianapolis police investigating hit-and-run that killed pedestrian

INDIANAPOLIS,  IN - A pedestrian died Thursday morning in what Indianapolis police are labeling as a hit-and-run case, WTHR reports.

The incident was reported on East 38th Street near North Keystone Avenue on the city's northeast side.  Police officers arrived at about 1:30 a.m. to find a male had been struck and was dead at the scene.  The victim's identity was not immediately released.

Authorities shut down East 38th Street for several hours for the crash investigation.

Anyone in the area at the time of the fatal incident or who may have video of what happened was asked to contact the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
