Kentland man dies in car wreck at State Road 55 and U.S. 24

GOODLAND, IN - A single-vehicle accident in Newton County Saturday morning claimed the life of the driver, according to a WISH report.

The incident, reported shortly before 8 a.m., happened in the vicinity of U.S. 24 and State Road 55.  An investigation found that the driver of a Chevrolet Traverse SUV drove off the road while traveling on U.S. 24.  The vehicle struck a culvert and ended up in a ditch.

The driver, a 35-year-old man from Kentland, was pronounced dead after being transported to Riverside Medical Center.  His name was not immediately released.
