ROSWELL, NM - A suspected drunk driver was involved in a crash in Chaves County on Saturday evening, reports the Roswell Daily Record.
Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene at Old Dexter Highway and Felix Ranch Road. Chaves County Undersheriff Charles Yslas said Rosalio Armendariz was behind the wheel of a pickup truck when he drove off the road and into a field, where the pickup rolled over. Armendariz was hospitalized with a head injury.
The driver refused to submit to field sobriety tests, and an odor of intoxicants was detected on him, Yslas said. Armendariz was subsequently charged with aggravated driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, our Albuquerque car accident attorney says.
